A Major Selling Point Of Your Home Is Right At Your Feet

Have you ever set foot in a home and caught a glimpse of stained flooring? You know, the kind that makes you want to keep your shoes on. Imagine being a buyer and looking at that same floor.

The type and condition of your flooring can make a big impression on buyers-for the positive and negative. If you doubt the appeal of your floor, here are some fixes to help with the issue and make sure your home can sell.

Do You Have Wood Floors?

If so, they can prove to be a definite selling point if presented well. Buyers love them! Some will even be willing to pay more for a house that has them. Floor could end up being the ultimate selling point for your home. If they have been covered up for some reason, make sure you uncover them and show off the stunning, natural woodgrain!

With so many professional tools available for rent, you can make it a DIY project, or enlist the help of a professional. Keep in mind that scratches and other imperfections do show easily on hardwood floors. If you think a DIY job will be less than the best, make sure to contact a professional.

Do you have wall-to-wall carpet?

Take a good, solid look at it. Is it stained, from a few decades ago, or otherwise showing some wear and tear? If yes, it is time to pull it up. When having the new carpet installed, make sure to use high-quality padding as it is much more comfortable when standing. When laying the new carpet, use high-quality carpet padding to make sure it feels good to stand on. If having carpet is essential to a buyer, the level of softness is something they will check.

Do You Have Tiled Floors or Walls?

While tiles can be stunning, intricate works of art, they are quick to show their age. You should replace any tiles that have seen better days, as well as making sure the grout is clean, and any stains removed.

Your floors can make or break your home, so be sure and take a good look at yours. Doing so might help you to take the steps you need to close with a buyer. If you're ready to move to that step, just know that I can help. When you are prepared to discuss selling your home, just get in touch with me.
